Ambassador of Caring Awards

What is Profiles in Caring?
|
|
Profiles in Caring is a nationally and internationally syndicated television show that is also a non-profit organization. We profile non-profit humanitarian groups doing good work around the world.

|
Who can apply?
|
The Ambassador of Caring Award is a series of ongoing grants from Profiles in Caring and our title sponsor Equitable Life and Casualty. There is no deadline to apply.
In order to qualify for the grant, the applicant must be a registered non-profit organization- not a person. In the United States, that means a 501 c-3 status. There is no cut-off in budget, and no requirement that the staff of the group be unpaid volunteers, however the percentage of the budget spent on overhead and personnel costs are factored into the ultimate consideration for the grants.

How can I apply or nominate a group?
|
In order to apply for the AOC Award, please visit our website:
Click on the Ambassadors of Caring title (Upper right hand corner of Profiles website homepage). Fill out the application and submit it online. (Please note that like all servers, ours will occasionally suffer from down time or difficulty. If you experience this, please copy and paste your answers to your hard drive, and paste later and resubmit.) You can also copy and paste the entire application and email it to info@profilesincaring.org.

Do I have to win an award to have my story aired?
|
Also on our website, you may want to click the Submit a Story tab. Here, you have the opportunity to submit a story application for your group to be considered to be "Profiled" on our show. The questions we ask under this heading are basically the same as for the AOC Award, so a saved version of the AOC application comes in handy. The story submission and the AOC Award application are reviewed by separate entities.
(NOTE: this paragraph will change if we have the additional question added to the AOC application)
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WIN THE AOC AWARD TO HAVE YOUR GROUP PROFILED ON OUR SHOW. To be considered by Profiles in Caring, please fill out ALL of the fields. We know this will take some time, but this is your way of telling us why we should do your story!

How does having my story aired benefit my organization?
|
If your organization is chosen to be "profiled" on our show, you will receive the following:
- Your story will be televised to over 30 million households in the US, and internationally to over 100 million viewers.
- A DVD copy of your aired story, to reproduce as you see fit for fundraising etc.
- Your story streamed on our internet site for your group to link from your website.
This is a package of services conservatively worth $20,000. We cover all production costs (shooting and editing), post-production and internet expenses. We are non-profit as well, and as such, work on an extremely efficient budget. The only costs we look to our featured non-profits to cover is part of the travel expenses – specifically, airfare. If we can cover more than one story in a given location, we only ask you for a portion of the associated air costs. We cover all lodging and food expenses for our crew while on the road.
